PROJECT DESCRIPTION
A Rainwater Harvesting Sculpture that blends art, sustainability, and history by transforming rainwater collection into an immersive sensory experience. Located at St John’s Gate, it features delicate, reclaimed glass petals etched with wave-like patterns, guiding water in rhythmic cascades to a central reservoir. The design minimizes material waste while echoing the site’s historic architecture. Beyond functionality of storing water for irrigation and non-potable uses, the sculpture engages the public through sound, light, and movement. Raindrops create a natural symphony, while nighttime lighting casts dynamic water reflections, turning the space into a meditative retreat. Modular and relocatable, the structure extends its impact beyond Clerkenwell Design Week. “Echoes of Rain” redefines urban water management, framing rainwater as both a vital resource and a poetic force that connects communities to nature. It challenges cities to integrate ecological solutions into historic landscapes with elegance and awareness.
