Lightdome Cafe is a cultural retail and refreshment space designed for the Shanghai Science and Technology Museum as the entrance to the “Tomorrow Explorer” exhibition. Inspired by the path of the sun, the space is shaped by a flowing arched canopy made of gradient acrylic, mirrored surfaces, and intelligent lighting. The canopy filters light by day and glows softly at night, creating a transition from sunrise to sunset, and from reality to the future. An island layout integrates IP retail displays, an service counter, ice cream, coffee and popcorn stations, seating, and hidden storage. Recyclable acrylic, aluminium, eco-friendly coatings, and energy-saving lighting support a sustainable spatial experience. Lightdome Cafe becomes a compact future lifestyle scene where light, technology, retail, and social interaction come together.
